Baha’i Sabbath: Sultan 13, 170 B.E. (1/31/2014)

As to the difference between that material civilization now prevailing, and the divine civilization which will be one of the benefits to derive from the House of Justice, it is this: material civilization, through the power of punitive and retaliatory laws, restraineth the people from criminal acts; and notwithstanding this, while laws to retaliate against and punish a man are continually proliferating, as ye can see, no laws exist to reward him. In all the cities of Europe and America, vast buildings have been erected to serve as jails for the criminals.

Divine civilization, however, so traineth every member of society that no one, with the exception of a negligible few, will undertake to commit a crime. There is thus a great difference between the prevention of crime through measures that are violent and retaliatory, and so training the people, and enlightening them, and spiritualizing them, that without any fear of punishment or vengeance to come, they will shun all criminal acts. They will, indeed, look upon the very commission of a crime as a great disgrace and in itself the harshest of punishments. They will become enamoured of human perfections, and will consecrate their lives to whatever will bring light to the world and will further those qualities which are acceptable at the Holy Threshold of God.

See then how wide is the difference between material civilization and divine. With force and punishments, material civilization seeketh to restrain the people from mischief, from inflicting harm on society and committing crimes. But in a divine civilization, the individual is so conditioned that with no fear of punishment, he shunneth the perpetration of crimes, seeth the crime itself as the severest of torments, and with alacrity and joy, setteth himself to acquiring the virtues of humankind, to furthering human progress, and to spreading light across the world.

Baha’i Sabbath: Sultan 6, 170 B.E. (1/24/2014)

Behold how contrary are the ways of the Manifestations of God, as ordained by the King of creation, to the ways and desires of men! As thou comest to comprehend the essence of these divine mysteries, thou wilt grasp the purpose of God, the divine Charmer, the Best-Beloved. Thou wilt regard the words and the deeds of that almighty Sovereign as one and the same; in such wise that whatsoever thou dost behold in His deeds, the same wilt thou find in His sayings, and whatsoever thou dost read in His sayings, that wilt thou recognize in His deeds. Thus it is that outwardly such deeds and words are the fire of vengeance unto the wicked, and inwardly the waters of mercy unto the righteous. Were the eye of the heart to open, it would surely perceive that the words revealed from the heaven of the will of God are at one with, and the same as, the deeds that have emanated from the Kingdom of divine power.

Baha’i Month: Sultan (Sovereignty) 1, 170 B.E. (1/19/2014)

GIVE ear unto that which the Spirit imparteth unto thee from the verses of God, the Help in Peril, the Self-Subsisting, that His Call may attract thee to the Summit of transcendent glory and draw thee nigh unto the Station where thou shalt behold thine entire being set ablaze with the fire of the love of God in such wise that neither the ascendancy of the rulers nor the whisperings of their vassals can quench it, and thou wilt arise amidst the peoples of the world to celebrate the praise of thy Lord, the Possessor of Names. This is that which well beseemeth thee in this Day.

*****

Say, take heed lest the overpowering might of the oppressors alarm you. The day is approaching when every emblem of vainglory will have been reduced to nothingness; then shall ye behold the invincible sovereignty of your Lord ruling over all things visible and invisible.

Baha’i Sabbath: Sharaf 18, 170 B.E. (1/17/2014)

When delivering the glad tidings, speak out and say: the Promised One of all the world’s peoples hath now been made manifest. For each and every people, and every religion, await a Promised One, and Bahá’u’lláh is that One Who is awaited by all; and therefore the Cause of Bahá’u’lláh will bring about the oneness of mankind, and the tabernacle of unity will be upraised on the heights of the world, and the banners of the universality of all humankind will be unfurled on the peaks of the earth. When thou dost loose thy tongue to deliver this great good news, this will become the means of teaching the people.

O thou bright pearl!

Endeavor, and spare no effort, and hasten to the Kingdom of thy Lord, the Lord of the shining and clear evidences and arguments.

Verily, by Truth, every seed cast in this great and magnificent century (period) will be cultivated by God and produce plants through the abundance of the clouds of His mercy, which preceded the postulates, and from which all the existing beings have been awakened and issued, and to which they will return.

Therefore, use thy utmost power to sow and cast those pure seeds, the divine teachings, in the hearts which move and cheer by the fragrance of God.

1914-2014: 100 years of Armageddon and The Kingdom of God

Sunday, January 5th, 2014

The Establisher of the Baha’i Faith, Dr.Leland Jensen, stated that television and the Internet were created for the specific purpose of proclaiming the Baha’i Revelation to the entire planet.

Since there is really no end to that proclamation we could have truly enlightening and awe inspiring broadcasts going around the world and out into space for the duration of the Baha’i dispensation which is the next 500,000 years.

There are however many people who see these two mediums as inherently worthless or even downright evil. There is sometimes a tendency to see modern technology as being evil in and of itself. This view can foster an outlook of fatalism as reflected in “End of the world” thinking and an expectation of complete and utter annihilation of the entire human world.

However, as the prophecy states, “They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks.” This Biblical passage in no way even hints at wholesale extermination of humanity. In fact, it promises rebirth, reformation and transformation to a peaceful, and co-operative global civilization wherein war and all of the evils spawned by its art and industry are a thing of the past ages and are replaced with justice and all of the qualities and attributes exemplified by each of the manifestations of God in the cycle which is ending in these days.

By transforming our values and daily actions, we will arrive at the point where we will not use these same technological tools for making war.

Therefore, hopeless annihilation is not the direction of humanity’s destiny but rather transformation and reordering of our individual and collective soul.

To illustrate the illogical nature of the fatalistic nihilistic way of thinking, in the case of the “sword” to be beaten into a “plowshare” (speaking metaphorically of course) if one were to chop the sword up into shards of metal and simply destroy it, there would be nothing to plow the field with. Transforming the sword into a plowshare is a process of heating, hammering, bending and cooling the sword which transforms it into a useful tool of agriculture, not simply destroying or discarding the sword.

This is what the Baha’i writings tell us is the process of transforming satanic strength into heavenly power and that does not imply annihilation.

So to advocate the destruction of the wondrous tools which the Revelation of  Baha’u’llah has directly inspired the human mind to invent for a heavenly purpose during these first two centuries of it’s dispensation would be irresponsible, counterproductive and foolish to put it mildly.

Through education in the Baha’i Revelation, we will elevate our spiritual development so it keeps pace with our technical ingenuity and all invention will be utilized to advance our spiritual civilization rather than to destroy it.

This is what has been and will continue to happen to the world order of the beast as well, until the transformation within the human heart is complete.

It will be transformed into the world order of the Glory of God i.e. Baha’u’llah (Baha/Glory-‘u’/of-Allah/God) with the transformation of the four beast nations (England, France, Russia & the United States) into the four living creatures described in Revelation 4:6-9, 5:6-14, 6:1-8, 14: 3, 15:7, and 19:4.

Like the sword, the transformation of this entire human world through the spiritual teachings of the Return of Christ in Baha’u’llah requires the application of fervent heat (nuclear), hammering (meteor impact and earthquake), bending (earth’s shifting crust), and the tempering or cooling process which would be the spiritual change the  human race experiences as a result of education before, during and after these transformational catastrophes.

This has been happening very intensely and in all facets of human reality since the advent of Baha’u’llah beginning with the Return of Elijah and John the Baptist in the person of The Bab in 1844 A.D. It intensified with the start of WW1 in 1914 and has been increasing for these past 100 years. Thermonuclear War has been averted solely by the Grace of God since the two atomic bombs were dropped on Japan at the end of WW2. Now the “Four winds of destruction” are being held back at the river Euphrates (Syria and Iraq) as God The Most Merciful gives humanity precious time to come to the realization that Christ has returned in Baha’u’llah and take His Revelation into their hearts and act upon it in their daily lives.

Bahá’u’lláh hath been made manifest to all mankind and He hath invited all to the table of God, the banquet of Divine bounty. Today, however, most of those who sit at that table are the poor, and this is why Christ hath said blessed are the poor, for riches do prevent the rich from entering the Kingdom; and again, He saith, ‘It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the Kingdom of God.’ If, however, the wealth of this world, and worldly glory and repute, do not block his entry therein, that rich man will be favoured at the Holy Threshold and accepted by the Lord of the Kingdom.

In brief, Bahá’u’lláh hath become manifest to educate all the peoples of the world. He is the Universal Educator, whether of the rich or the poor, whether of black or white, or of peoples from east or west, or north or south.
